Klauzer & Tremaine Co-Sponsors the Inaugural Yampa Valley Crane Festival

Klauzer & Tremaine, LLC, is pleased to co-sponsor the inaugural Yampa Valley Crane Festival!  We hope to see you there!

The inaugural Yampa Valley Crane Festival takes place September 16-19 in Steamboat Springs and Hayden, plus a pre-festival screening of the International Wildlife Festival award-winning film Born To Fly on Thursday, September 13 as part of the Library’s ongoing Wild Films series.

The inaugural Yampa Valley Crane Festival culminates on September 19, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. during a free community talk with Dr. George Archibald, a revered ornithologist and co-founder of the International Crane Foundation.  This community talk will take place in Library Hall at the Bud Werner Memorial Library in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

George Archibald will share an amazing story about how Greater Sandhill Cranes in the Rocky Mountains of North America, Black-necked Cranes on Asia’s Tibetan Plateau, and Demoiselle Cranes that migrate over the peaks of the Himalayas, survive at high altitudes. He will also explain the unique challenges in conserving these remarkable creatures as human populations spread up the slopes and as fragile high-altitude climates change.

Sunday, September 16, 2012 – Yampa Valley Crane Festival programming focuses on family crane viewing and educational programs, plus a photography workshop. Sunday’s Crane Festival headquarters is The Nature Conservancy’s Carpenter Ranch in Hayden.

Monday, September 17, 2012 – Crane Festival programming focuses on outreach to school children and seniors.

Tuesday, September 18 and Wednesday, September 19, 2012 – Library Hall is Yampa Valley Crane Festival headquarters for Tuesday & Wednesday, Sept. 18-19, with talks, films and a two-day art show.
